What we hold, and for how long
The less we keep, the less there is to lose. That is the whole of the thinking behind this page, and the practice follows it closely.
What you give us
A name to confirm against, an address or a hotel and room, a time, and whatever else you choose to put in a message. That is the lot. We do not ask for identity documents, employer, reason for travel or anything similar, and we would rather you did not volunteer them.
Who sees it
Nell, and the companion you booked. Nobody else. The companion is told the address, the hour and the name the room is held under because she cannot arrive without them. Nothing about you is discussed with anybody outside that.
How long it is kept
Message threads are deleted once there is no working reason to keep them, which for a one off booking means days rather than months. Regular guests are remembered only to the extent that saves you repeating yourself, and only for as long as you keep writing in. Ask for your thread to be deleted at any point and it is done, then confirmed.
Where the messages live
On WhatsApp and on Telegram, both of which carry their own encryption and their own terms, and neither of which is run by us. You can use either, so if you prefer one company's handling of your messages to the other's, use that one. Nothing you send is copied into a third system.
Nothing in a web address
No detail about you appears in any address on this site. Nothing is passed to an advertising network, nothing is sold, nothing is shared with a partner, because there are no partners. The cookies page covers what your browser stores.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be erased. Write to the desk and you will get a straight answer within a few days rather than a form to complete. If you are unhappy with how a request is handled, the Information Commissioner's Office takes complaints from the public.
The trains stop. We do not.
