Height, hair, eyes, languages and an age band, listed as facts rather than sold as claims. Then the district she knows best and one line about what she likes doing in it.

Some read every page. Most look at three, pick one and write in. If you would rather describe the evening than scroll, tell Nell what it involves, a long dinner in Spitalfields, a quiet night at home in Hackney, an hour after a late train, and she will name two or three who suit it. She will not send you the whole list back.

No. Every companion on this board takes the same figure for the same length of time. What differs is the sort of evening each is best at, which is what the desk is for.
02Can I ask for somebody the same evening?
Usually yes. Write in with the hour and a name and Nell comes back with a straight answer, including the times the answer is no and somebody else is free.
